Douglas Findlay started work in food development with Marks and Spencer where he worked for 10 years. He then re-trained and worked as a high school teacher, teaching Food Science and Health Education. Over the last 25 years, Douglas has worked in and with the Pharmaceutical and Medical Technology industries, initially as a science officer, then as a partnership manager, a regional adviser and finally as a learning and development specialist training consultant for an eLearning provider.
Douglas is an enthusiastic advocate of the NHS, he campaigns as a patient/carer advocate. He cared for both his parents during 2013 until their deaths in 2014 and since that time has taken an active role in a number of NHS organisations, including volunteering as a patient leader at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust and as a board member of Healthwatch Reading.
